One Performance Tool...
Whether you’re just starting out or already have a live set, a great way to elevate your sound is by adding vocal harmonies to your performance. The TC Helicon Harmony Singer 2 is a classic and dependable pedal that adds vocal effects, harmonies, and looping capabilities to create a richer, fuller live sound.
Try it out: It retails for $149 USD new, but if you’re looking to save money, try asking your local music store if they’re selling any floor models, and check online for a secondhand model.
One Marketing Tip...
One of the reasons Taylor Swift's eras were so iconic? Visual identity and branding. Using specific colors and symbols that fans could instantly recognize, helped each era retain a distinct vibe and personality even years later. This approach has clearly influenced artists like Sabrina Carpenter, who’s associated with powder blue, and Olivia Rodrigo with purple. Why not let it influence you?
Try it out: Do you already unknowingly have a signature color? Look through your most recent posts and see if you notice any patterns in what you wear or where you shoot your content. Choose a color that fits your music or vibe and start incorporating it into your content and live shows. Small, consistent touches like this can help build something memorable for your fans.
One Music Production Tip...
Looking to build momentum before your chorus comes in? Try reversing an element that’s already in your track, like a guitar strum or cymbal crash. It can create a unique swelling effect that naturally builds tension and adds depth and emotion to your song!
Try it out: Cut up a cymbal, vocal, or guitar track in your DAW so that it ends right before the section you want to highlight. Reverse that clip and place it leading into the chorus. Then add some reverb and fade it in to make sure it feels seamless.
